With
a development of more than ten years, Xiamen boasts of
several exhibition organizations and companies. The
ˇ°Fujian Fair for Foreign Investment and Tradeˇ± held for
ten time annually has upgraded as ˇ°China Fair For Foreign
Investment and Tradeˇ±, which planted a solid foundation
for the city stepping into a rank of famous C&E city. On
Jan, 19, 1999, the Municipal Government Working Report has
regarded the development of C&E industry as the major
objectives of the city, so as to attract more exhibitions
and fairs to Xiamen, and to affiliate the development of the
related industries. Therefore, the municipal government
investment 1.2 billion RMB on the construction of Xiamen
International Conference and Exhibition Center( XICEC).
XICEC is the largest exhibition facility in China (of
470 thousand square meters). The exhibition hall is on the
first floor, accommodating 2000 booths. The largest
supporting outdoor square is of 300 thousand square meters.
XICEC is the member of China Exhibition Center Association
and International Association for Exposition Management,
International Association for Fair and Association. It is
applying for the membership of International Association of
Conference Center, so as to integrate with the international
standards. On Sept , 8th, 2000, it will be the
venue of China Fair For International Investment and Trade.
In
conclusion, besides the beautiful environment and rich
tourist resource it boasts, Xiamen is complete in the
exhibition related supporting facilities, such as
transportation, telecommunication and financial services. It
is a qualified city in hosting international conferences and
exhibitions. Now, with the policy support by the government
and participation of companies for different trade, a
harmonious exhibition climate integrated with international
standards is taking into shape.

facilities, by introducing advanced management system and
technology. Therefore, XICEC expects the cooperation with
the advanced C&E management organization by means of
separate project development or joint-venture
